Space Balls II, the search for more money!
Coming Soon! - Latest News
Playbill: Will you have a role in it?
MB: It's doubtful, but I'm writing myself back into the Spaceballs sequel that I'm now writing, so you haven't seen the last of my face. Why another Spaceballs? It wouldn't feel right have anyone else play Yoghurt and the first one was the best experience I've had making a movie since Blazing Saddles.
Playbill: When can we expect that?
MB: Best case scenario: a week before the new Star Wars opens. Worst Case Scenario: a year after the new star wars opens.

Grudge Match 2 AAR, A good event.
It was a good event. I spent the 1st hour trying to tacticly control the platoons, but ended up nearly all of them being wiped out at one point or another and respawning later. We then spent an hour in a confused fight betweeb Gediine and Haybes with random patrols blundering into each other and both sides retreating away from each other after taking causlties.
The inital contact happened at what we called "The Gap", a slice of open ground in the far north forest between Haybes and Gedinne. My company was moving around it when when it ran into a german company presubaly trying to do the same thing. Ambuhses, attacks, fall backs, advancs, combat all over the place went on for about an hour. Eventuially we got past it and found a very large open area SE of it...where a 2nd battle took place on a ridge there, first at the north end of the open clearing, then as we went south around it, the south end, at the top of a ridge line. Things looked grim byt reifniormcnets from Haybes cought the german unit behind them, and the company was able to rally.
Knowing we only had an hour to go I just told all platoons to head to the suspected german HQ, and we arrives on it's outskirks to the north just as SHilling was killed. Thinking that Badger was well alive, I orderd the company to attack the HQ and wasnt really worried as the the entire company, minus 1 platoon who was helping to defend the french HQ, and Cavs platoon (about 3 minutes behind) was engnaged.
Then I heard Badger got shot :(. Drat. I was killed a minute later by a LMG BEHIND my company. I never saw a single ei :)
It was good fun. No techincal glitches, except the TS server maxing out at 100(!) people for no good reason meant I couldn't talk with one entire platoon who had to use thier own TS server instead. Only time the 64 limit effected us was at one point very early on before we had any enemy contact, and was not an issue.
5 units controlled by 1 CO is 1-2 too many. I always had to leave 1 platoon hanging around because I could only talk to 2-3 at once. 1/2 way through I was able to just tell the company to go to location X and we didn't meet anyone on the way to confuse things. I know it was attepted before, but I really needed someone to contorl 2-3 platoons each. Foruitnaly my XO onehung did that in the 2nd half of the event.
I rate the event 8/10.

WWII Online :: View topic - So what exactly do OICs do?
WHAT is an OIC? I'm glad someone asked, because few normal players know what an OIC is, what he does and what effects it has on the game.
Bacialy an OIC is the man most likly to be ignored on text coms.
As for a truck and they will spawn a tank.
As for a tank and they will spawn a truck.
As for infantry only and you'll get a tank divsion.
Ask for armour and everyone will spawn at Antwerp Airfield.
Ask for air support and everyone will multicrew a DD.
Ask for naval transport and they will spawn a DD...at Dover.
Ask for everyone to go to the spawnable and the'll cap the city flag.
Ask for everyone to go to the bunker and the'll spawn sappers and try and blow the FB.
....and you'll end up driving.
THAT is what an OIC does. Drives trucks. And talk on TS at the same time. On 4 text channels. Armed with a pistol and a large target on thier head.

War in Iraqm is lost
Back to Iraq 3.0
It's over. Done. Whatever they do now won't matter. Iraq has been lost by the US and Bush.
Everyone who dies from now on is pretty meaningless, as the war is finshed.

Post subject: Will the real he who must not be named please stand up?
A Song to the tune of 'The Real Slim Shady'.
Enjoy.
May I have your attention please?
May I have your attention please?
Will he who must not be named please stand up?
I repeat, will he who must not be named please stand up?
We're gonna have a problem here.
Y'all act like you never seen a Mac user before,
Jaws all on the floor,
Like Jobs and Viruses just burst in the door.
I was programming years before
We began this war,
Now I plan to even the score!
Mac programming is a science,
[Doc:] 'Oh wait, you're kidding,
'He didn't just say what I think he did, did he?'
And my pal Granik said:
Nothing you fools, he's an intern!
I set fire to him and watched him burn!
The other rats all love rickb!
[Gophur:]'Oh, why doesn't he listen to me?
'Metaphorically,
'Or full on directly?
'Walkin' around using his you-know-what,
'Being known as you-know-who!'
[Toto:]'Yeah, but he's so cute though!'
Yeah I probably got a couple of screw up in my head loose,
But it's no worse than what's going on the Rats' rec room,
Sometimes I just wanna get on the 3D modeler and let loose,
But can't 'cause some dude's designing statues!
The patch is coming soon™!
The patch is coming soon™!
And if you're lucky,
It'll be out on Thursday around noon!
Hey there little girl,
Would you like a balloon?
Here's a little secret for ya,
Killer is a loon!
Of course you're gonna know what the next big thing is,
Because when Killer tells me 'bout it,
I'll post it on my blog,
'cause the Rats are mingers!
We ain't nothing but modelers,
Well, some of us are cobblers,
Cuttin' up the terrain like toddlers.
But if we can model super trees and LMGs,
There's nothing to stop us animating sheep!
But if you're tired of the current terrain, I got what you need,
soon™ WWIIOL will be nothing like you've seen!
I'm rickb,
Yes I'm the real rickb,
All you other rickb's can sod off to Eghezee,
So won't the real rickb please stand up, please stand up, please stand up?
I'm rickb,
Yes I'm the real rickb,
All you other rickb's can sod off to Eghezee,
So won't the real rickb please stand up, please stand up, please stand up?

The Future of Squad Relations

Squads are, at the heart of it...social organizations.
Social organizations have alot of strong points...but fitting smoothly and fairly into a military hierarchy is not one of them.
Yeikes.
And that's why there MUST be a squad/guide feature in this game!
People continue to play Massivily Multiplayer Games due to the Social aspects. Socical grouping KEEPS people in the game, with the friends.
You're right: You don't WANT a social group inside a military hierarchy! If you did the cries of favortism and old boy network would destory it. But the GAME needs and REQUIRES squads for the social aspects of a GAME to continue.
Squads are part of a MMOG. You can remove them from the commander role somewhat, but do not remove them from the game, or whats worse, PUNISH people for being part of them either. You want to ENCOURAGE a social network being in game.
Brigades will do that of course, that's one of the reasons for having them. But the're too BIG to be a better social network than the squad level. Example: My BDE right now is made up of about 5 squads, covering different time zones, stlyes of play, countries and structure. I like PLAYING with them, but I also like being part of my OWN squad social network.
ANother example: The BEF only now HAS a total of *six* brigades on the ground to choose from. Chooisng a SQUAD gives a BEF ground player a LOT more choice in the people he/she can work with, day in, day out. YES you'll be part of the brigade, but you're HOME is often going to be you're squad.
For that matter some people don't WANT to be part of a squad, and that's fine! The'lll still have a home, inside the brigade. But if they don't want to be part of a squad, they won't have to. But the people who DO want to be part of a squad, and not a high command enforced social group of 500 people, need that choice too.
BDE's will have aroundn 300-500 people in them anyway. WAY to big to a nice small social group. Squads fit that role. IRL soliders usually refer to thier battalion/regimenet/company/platoon/ship as thier home, not the command level of a brigade. The squad fits into this level and cannot and should not be removed.
Now I don't think squads ARE getting removed, but it shouldn't even be throught about, little lone considered.
Peoples loyalty are to thier ship, not their fleet.

Leadership of this calibure, how did we lost last map?

after the fall back was given, i spawned in to help out.. we had 6 guys in the bunker...

no EI was ever seen in the bunker...
there was a big WTF! after that happened...
Oh dear. With leadership of THIS calibure, no wounder the fallback failed. Ring, fallback GIVES the enemy the AB. They can't SPAWN there until they capture the town.
SO fallback only works if you have a depot still linked to a FRIENDLY town (aka, Huy-Andenne depot). A falback when you don't own that means you can no longer spawn in town.

Promotion?
It seems on the very day I resigned from the AHC, they wanted to give me a job AT the AHC as a staff member (non commander) role.
I don't think the CoC is worth the web page its writtin on, but I'm now at acceptance: If they kick me out for breaking it, so what? I'll just have to start as a officer from the bottem again.

1) Some AHC Officers and players posting non appropriate posts in the open which was deemed as detrimental to the community which sadly resulted in some corrective actions this makes a huge impact on morale for our community.
Hardly. The inpact on morale occured BEFORE any such posts occured, and notice it dosn't answer the question of why we DID post in the first place.
For that matter he's right. Corrective actions DO have a huge inpact on the morale of the player commuinit. They reduce it.

New Rules For .ALLIEDS VS. Lonewolfs. CRS and the AHC goes insane.
Allied Headquarters :: View topic - New Rules For .ALLIEDS VS. Lonewolfs
Are you saying I can't ask for a .allied anymore?
As I've resigned from the AHC, are you now saying I can't get a .allied if *I* lead an attack OR defence? As far as the orbat is concered I'm no longer on it. Does that mean I can't ask for .allied?
The conclusion is YES I'm not allowed to. To get a channel NOT a brigade channel is not allowed. To be a Brigade OiC I need to be in the AHC. If I'm not in the AHC I can't be a Brigade OiC and therefore I am not allowed to get .allieds for attacks Id like to do, or defences of a town I might be able to do.
There is a very good reason these rules were never enforced. Saying the old rules were like this is NOT a valid reason for the rule itself. There is no way this is coming from the PLAYER base, it can only be coming from the rats, because no one in the right mind wants to REDUCE the commincations in game.
Lone Wolves, and outside the 150 people or so in the AHC, are no longer allowed to ask for help in attacks or defences THEY want to try and lead. Change the rules to HELP people, not hinder them!
Whats a nebie to do, ask on 99 where the action is?!?!?! For that matter, how am *I*, the non AHC player, supposed to find out? The game gives me NOTHING, only other players, and the .allied is one of the best ways I can find instant action.
If you want to have this stupid rule, I expect and demand it to be ruthlessy enforced. It won't last a day if it were.

WW2OL the collactable care game: Dawn of War - Ideas....
"Dammit, I want to play this game now.
You play vechile and infantry weapon cards, and then play player cards to use the tanks/planes/boats/guns. You then attack you're enemy with the vechile player (bonus for multicrew!) and attaept the get past the enemty defences to kill the enemy general (Aka, Shilling, Badger, CinC in other words). Players can't be targted by enemy units, but CAN be targted by fourm posts and MOD cards (Player X goes balsitic in the Naval Fourm, removed from play for 2 turns in disgust).
You can have enchanments cards (like TeamSpeak Server - gain 2 attack and defence on all players), interupts (TS goes down! All TS bonuses are denined this round) and instants (KFSONE unplugs the strat server by accident: Alll defences are negated but next turn everyone CTD's and all cards on table go to the discard pile).
Not sure how you handle squads. I guess some players get bonues if the're involevd in an attack of defence with members of the same squad (squads get different colourled cards), though there would be a lot of notable Lone Wolf (GOLD?) colour cards, like Bilton (upgradable with a 1000 doller WW2IOL bu8ilder card).
Someone with too much time on thier hands need to design it, and someone with even more needs to make the cards :)"
